The Mineral Spa
Located on Kibbutz Mitzpe Shalem
Although all the tourist brochures tell you that the Dead Sea is located a mere 45 minutes from Jerusalem in order to enjoy the sea and mud you have to go to one of the spa or hotels on the shore.
Typically I have always gone to the Dead Sea spa that the tour buses always take you to. It is approximately a two hour drive from Jerusalem. On my most recent trip to Israel my son passed a sign an hour away from Jerusalem that said, “Mineral Spa Entrance.” Instead of driving another hour to the tourist hub we turned around and decided to try out the Mineral Spa. We were very glad we did.
This place is fabulous. You must try it. We highly recommend it.
